The old town center of Corfu, belonging to Unesco World Heritage Sites, constitutes a unique, world-famous site that never fails to captivate visitors.

Three distinct states had occupied Corfu in recent centuries and left their footprint. British, Venetian, and French influence lingers, but Corfiots have managed to adopt only some aspects of those cultures, maintaining their own traditions and habits and create the perfect culture mixing.

The old town of Corfu boasts numerous impressive and world-famous sites, each having its own unique historical development: tall fortresses which contributed to the defense of the island, magnificent palaces, museums, great architecture, old mansions and colorful houses constructed with the Venetian style, famous cosmopolitan squares and magnificent churches, indicating the strong religious beliefs of Corfiots.

Explore Campiello, the oldest district of the historic city of Corfu. The picturesque Cantounia, with little narrow streets and the laundry spread are reminiscent of an old Greek film. Day at Leisure in Corfu

Self-drive 40HP boat for Wednesday, the 27th of September with pick up time 10:00am.

Our first itinerary had Mykonos as the next stop on our Greece vacation. That island was one of my ultimate dream destinations... in my 20s. Now? In My 30s? After learning how Mykonos was more of a party island, we decided to find a different option. I'm not here for the "oointz oointz." and neither is Mer. We like to relax, see the sights, explore rich history, and be in bed by a reasonable hour. ENTER: Corfu, an island with lush landscapes along the Ionian Sea. 

Our hotel, the Oliver Suites, was nestled right in the middle of the coastal town Mesongi. The villas were cute and quaint, Just like the neighborhood, and the customer service was phenomenal. The Ionian sea was much colder than I expected, so we mostly hong out at the beach lounge with our books and cocktails. At night, we walked around the town and enjoyed dinner a gelato at the nearby taverns. All the photos from our Old Town tour were taken on film, and that post will come later.
