I am not looking for the day when the Thanksgiving meal prep torch is passed down to me. The fourth Thursday in November is a day I look forward to for the simple fact that I don't have to work. It's a day off in the middle of the week to spend with family and eat good food. But the stress and pressure of having to prepare that food? Lord, help me.
So, for now, I relish in these magic moments of calm in November, before the frenzy of the Christmas season officially begins.
We rode out to our favorite farm and got the Christmas tree on Black Friday. We were first in line at the gate when they opened since they ran out of taller trees within a few hours last year. Then we came home, ate Waffle House to-go meal, lit some logs in the fireplace, and decorated the house. Cozy season is here!
