I honestly find it to be such a privilege to be "stuck at home." I keep hearing the phrase in such a negative context, but some people don't get to stay at home during this time. Some people don't have a safe and comfortable home to be in. Many people don't have a home at all. Keeping this perspective has been helping me appreciate all the little corners of my home and making me so thankful of this time to just "be" in it.
Even when I'm struggling to meet work deadlines while chasing down an-almost toddler. Even when I'm missing friends and family. Even when I'm annoyed that I have to cook yet another meal instead of just grabbing something while I'm out, because just being out and about is cancelled. I'm so thankful, and I'm trying to document as many of these moments as possible.
Lovely entry; a great reminder to be gentle with ourselves and others during this time, and also to be grateful for what we have. :")

thanks, Anna. being grateful always makes any situations infinitely better.
DeleteI truly is a privilege to be stuck at home and hopefully people are taking this time to relax their minds, rest, finally have the down time with family and significant other.
ReplyDeletei went into 2020 feeling like i needed to incorporate more moments of rest into my day to day. we're definitely on the extreme end of things here! but still, i'll take it.
DeleteI agree. We are fortunate enough to be able to eat regularly, and have a home where we can be safe and warm at night. The situation really makes us re-think things and appreciate the things that really matter. Hope your family is well, Disa! Stay safe. x
ReplyDeleteyesss, such an understated and simple privilege! you stay safe as well, April! 💕
DeleteHear hear. I feel the same way about using the phrase "stuck at home" and have been working to switch it out of my vocab by using "homebound" or "safe at home" because I realized using "stuck" comes off as being ungrateful for having a roof over my head. Love these little notes you've been adding to your photos over the past year, is this a font or your actually handwriting?
ReplyDeletethanks, boo! it's my handwriting. i searched high and low for fun fonts and finally decided to just write everything out. it's more time consuming, but also kinda therapeutic. like an adult coloring book.
DeleteI think we're all privileged to be home too. Love the cozy vibes on the pics :)
