Our last day in Mexico was spent in Tulum, and it was easily my favorite part. The morning started with a visit to the Mayan Archeological Site, also known as the Mayan Ruins, though they have been carefully preserved and are no longer in ruin.
After some chill time at Paradise beach, we made our way to the Jungla Maya Cenote, about 30 minutes off the highway in the Mexican jungle. We then proceeded to swim in the cenote. Swim! In the cenote! It was dark, so a guide led the way with a flashlight, and I kept thinking I can't believe I'm swimming in an underground cave. It was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience, of which I have no photos, so it almost feels even more special. The memories are only in my mind.
Playa Del Carmen was amazing, but if/when I ever return to Mexico, I would prefer to stay in Tulum.
