I'm in the mood for a list, a food post, a personal post (I'm dropping a bomb...), a goals post and a things-i'm-thankful-for post. All in one. Let's see how this goes.
feeling// Wide awake, at 7am. I realize that's not very early for most, but I am not a morning person, and this is odd.
eating// Tsunami Taqueria, which is a mix of Latin and Asian cuisine, this past Mother's Day. I had it in my head (and heart) to take lots of photos with Moms on Sunday, but both of us dropped the ball and forgot to get someone to take our picture. Lack of photoshoot aside, it was a dope Mother's Day. We went to church together, made our way downtown to the Sweet Auburn Festival, visited and supported my cousin's bakery booth, did a little window shopping, went to a secluded art gallery and ended the day with some good food (pictured above). I'll make sure to get some pictures of us together next time we hang out. Love my mama!
drinking// Eco Drink for the past few months, instead of buying juice. I get it from Costco, but I've linked the Amazon option as well. It's like drinking your multivitamin, and it actually tastes good. The Pomegranite-Berry is my favorite flavor, and I sweeten it with a little stevia.
practicing// Hot Pilates & Yoga again. The studio I used to frequent in Vinings closed in January, so I hadn't been to a class all year... until I found Be Yoga a last week. I've only been a few times, but it already feels like I'm a card-carrying yogi again. Time to get my groove back!
mastering// The art of raising a puppy. It takes a boatload of patience and even more consistency, and Raven has her good days and bad days. I'm very much looking forward to day when she's outgrown her restless puppy stage and is finally a chill, adult dog.
learning// How to re-work my budget. I haven't been able to contribute to my savings like I used to, and I feel like no matter what my income:expense ratio may be, it's still important to save. Even if it's just $10 each month.
playing// Cooking Fever. Forget Candy Crush (never actually played that one). This cooking game consumed so much of my spare time when I first downloaded it. It's not so much the cooking I like, but the fact that tests your time management skills.
finishing// The Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins. Actually, I finished this one a few weeks back, just days after I first cracked open the spine. It was one of those can't-put-down stories that had me hooked from the first chapter. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new novel to dig into, and I've already loaned it to two friends.
enjoying// My engagement. I guess I'll just throw this in here...
Yep, I'm getting married! After almost two years of dating, my fella and I will be tying the knot. The story of how he proposed isn't one of those grand, romantic moments like you see on tv, but it was simple and heartfelt, just like I like it. As for his name and face, I'll share all that in the future. We've always kept a low profile when it comes to social media, and even though I post lots of great moments in my life on this blog, I've kinda had an unspoken rule about boyfriends. A boyfriend was/is always a temporary title for me, and I would never want one of my dating disasters in my blog archives. I shutter at the thought, because I've definitely had some train-wrecks in the romance department. (Haven't we all?) Sometimes, however, you have to struggle through the mess to make it to your best, and honeyyyyy. WE MADE IT! Stay tuned for more on that...
listening// To the intermittent sounds of Raven snoring and chewing on her toy, inside her crate.
contemplating// Which book to read next.
lusting// The new gold Macbooks.
wearing// Yoga pants & a T-shirt. I've had no shame when it comes to wearing the yoga pants as regular pants lately. Hashtag live your life.
baking// All my veggies this week. It's less work, and they taste better.
wondering// If I should renew my Barnes & Noble membership, or just tough it out and keep hoping the library has the titles I want, and putting myself on the wait list for those popular books.
loving// My fiance, my friends, my family, everyone in my life who has been so supportive of my successes and my struggles. This is my current list of things I'm thankful for.
working// On a passion project. But I've been slacking lately.
travelling// To the mountains this weekend! Can't wait to take pictures of all the beauty.
planning// A small and intimate ceremony for next year. I never knew how expensive wedding venues were. How do people throw them together so quickly? I don't get it.
wanting// An iced green tea latte with peppermint from Starbucks. (It tastes like a Thin Mint smoothie).
As for this week's goals:
- Go to yoga three more times this week.
- Teach Raven to "stay" when I leave the room. She's very nosy, so I expect this to be a challenge.
- Laundry (because it's that time again)
Whew! I feel like I just dropped a load. Hopefully I didn't forget anything...
