Well I guess it's high time I show up here and write something this month. August has been here for 11 days now, and I'm just now realizing I haven't posted yet. What in the world have I been doing? I'm seriously sitting in front of the computer asking myself this question, and I can't really come up with a solid answer. Let's see... I booked a weekend trip to Panama City Beach for my friend's wedding next month. I saw some fireworks as the city of Smyrna celebrated its 102nd birthday; I also tried lamb meat for the first time that day. I started a new book (The Cuckoo's Calling). I also bought some new candles during Georgia's tax free weekend - they're the big ones and my apartment now smells like a Yankee Candle store.
On Saturday, I got the chance to bike the Silver Comet Trail. It starts in Cobb County and goes all the way to the Alabama State line which is 120 miles away. Clearly we didn't make it that far, but we did manage to ride about nine miles before starting our retreat. The views along the way were absolutely stunning, and I'm definitely bringing my camera next time, because the phone photos don't do it justice, and there will definitely be a next time because it was the most fun I've had while exercising in a long time.

Ooh destination wedding? Sounds fun and fun while exercising is always good. You rock.
ReplyDeleteP.S. new blog home @ phidamsho.weebly.com
You rock harder, sir. Checking out the new page, now!
DeleteNo where is this?? I would love to check this out!
ReplyDeleteIt starts off the East-West Connector in Smyrna, and there it goes through Mableton, Austell and more so there are lots of bike rental options along the way!
DeleteI have many of months just like that. The ones where weeks go by and I still have posted a single thing. You know what though? I think it's good to step away from the computer once and awhile and experience LIFE. And it seems like you did just that. Your bike ride sounds like a lot of fun, and with views like that I don't blame you for getting away for a bit. xoxo
ReplyDeleteYou're completely right. It's super good to step away sometimes, but then I look back at the days/weeks that have passed and be like "what the heck have I been doing?!"
DeleteOoooh Florida! Haven't been down there since I was 14... Must make time to go back at some point. Annnd biking is soooo much fun! Charles and I rode bikes to get around in Amsterdam and Barcelona and outside of my coochie losing circulation every once in a while, I loved it. We have a few nice trails up here in D.C. that we're gonna check out now that we're back because we enjoyed biking so much. And lastly, live your life mama! The last thing you want is for your blog to become a chore :)
ReplyDeleteSetarra, Setarra......... I'm 100% sure my bike ride around Georgia can't hold a flame to the ones you guys took around Europe. Which is why I'm sooooo excited to finally see those posts! Xx
Deletethis trail is awesome!! I love walking it when I'm in that part of GA
ReplyDeleteEspecially when the temperature is right. Its like a mini escape from the city!
DeleteAH! That trail looks amazing! I miss biking! My weekend task will be to pull out my bike and hop on a trail. Looks like a great place to let go of anything and get in tune with yourself.
ReplyDeleteI was actually thinking of buying one, and maybe that'll motivate me to go ride the trail more often (on my own schedule). Just throw on some headphones, grab a water bottle and ride. Good vibes!
