Don't you love when a place lives up to its name? Such is the case with Tasty's in Downtown Fernandina Beach. Out of almost 200 reviews, the place had 4.5 stars on Yelp, which means I had to try it.
I'm not sure if this franchise can be found outside of Amelia Island, but there are two locations here and Meredith and I went ahead and tried both outposts. You know, just to make sure there weren't any inconsistencies.
The first time I tried the Teriyaki Turkey Burger, topped with field greens, tomato, onion, cucumber, and teriyaki glaze. It was easily the best turkey burger I've ever had, which means it knocked my favorite spot down to number 2. The second time we went, I tried the classic hamburger, and man oh man.

Mer opted for the Bees Knees on both visits: a beef patty topped with swiss cheese, grilled onions and honey mustard. We also shared garlic parmesan fries both times.
I don't know what the secret to the crabby patty is here, but something about these burgers just make you want to never stop eating them. They're so flavorful, but they're not sloppy greasy they way some other chain burger joints are (I'm looking at you, Five Guys). It's as if they actually season their food with something other than oil and salt. Groundbreaking.

(they don't have a website, otherwise I'd link it)
(the best food spots never have websites, tbh)
Ohhh the shade at Five Guys, haha.
ReplyDeleteThose garlic fries, though. Burgers and fries just give my heart so much joy. The fact you gave it a 10/10 .. does that mean it beats Holeman & Finch?!

Not quite... But it came close! And it does beat In n Out, which is a big deal in my book!
Deletehaha, I feel the same way about Five Guys (the chain originated from D.C. facepalm) - their burgers and fries are waaaaaay too greasy. Those garlic fries look sooooo ah-mazing! Never eaten an asian ingrediant influenced burger before so I'll have to give that a try should I ever see something similar on menu when I go out to eat. also, sorry for the slew of comments - trying to catch up on everything I've missed this past month!:) xo
ReplyDeleteLOL at Five Guys! Something to try the next time I make it out to FL. Those fries... I need to be on a diet. LOL
