It's a good feeling to make it to the end of the year and look back on everything that has happened, everything you've made it through and everything that has changed. I, like most people, have my moments where I wish things were different, or better, or simpler, or clearer, but things always fall into place they way they're supposed to, so that's nice. I had planned to buy myself a smaller and more compact camera (much like the one above) for portability, but it hasn't happened... yet. There are so many options out there, so I'm having trouble narrowing it down, and for a moment I contemplated purchasing a vintage film camera, but now I'm not so sure if it'll be worth the effort to find film every time I need some new rolls and then to find somewhere to get the film developed at a decent quality. I may have to save that dream for a later date - a date when I have my own home with my own space for my own darkroom to develop my own film, myself. In the interim, I'm scanning reviews on various sites and taking recommendations if anyone out there has any.
Also, I guess it's worth mentioning, for the sake of mentions, that it looks a little different around here these days. The lovely Kotryna worked with me to help my vision come to life on this page, and I am a happy camper. I still have a few more things to add/update, but I was too anxious to wait until everything was picture-perfect-ready, or to wait until the new year, because clearly that would've made more sense. Ah well. It's my party.
In other news, I'm thinking of not going against the grain on New Years Resolutions and actually making some this year. They're underrated IMO, and I hate how much slack they get. There's nothing wrong with wanting to make changes, and the New Year is the perfect time for a fresh start. So what if you (I) don't stick to them? At least you (I) put forth an effort to do better.

"A baby step is still a step"
ReplyDeleteI needed to hear that, so true. I feel like I've taken a million baby steps and have gone nowhere, but a step is still a step. Anyways I was just about to say it looks new around here! I like the new look. Black & white, I'm always a fan. I've been looking for a new camera as well, it's been overwhelming but I think I've found the one: This Sony CyberShot. It's not a DSLR, but it's really good quality and has great reviews. Plus one of my favorite bloggers Rosie at The Londoner uses it for her food/events shots and her pictures are always nice. But it's hella expensive to not be a DSLR so I shall have to save some (a lot of) paychecks before buying lol.

Yes, ma'am. You take those steps in stride (no pun intended), and know that they're not in vain! Btw, picking up and moving to Vegas was NOT a baby step, and it's way more than I have the guts to do at this time lol. I will look into the Cybershot - thanks!
DeleteLove how you took an ordinary thing-such as hunting for a new camera-and turned it into a very positive and uplifting life lesson. It's true; baby steps in the right direction will always be better than no steps at all. I think you're on the right track. Your visions may be manifesting right before your eyes without you even realizing it. You will find exactly what you're looking for in due time. ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you, Darling!! I needed that :)
